Eric Holcomb

Eric Holcomb first became involved with Oregon Trail Rally in 2021, crewing for Peng Du in car 286 during a cold, windy, and rainy event.

He remains actively involved in rally through rallycross with the Northwest Rally Association, and is based in Western Washington.

For Eric, OTR stands out as the toughest event he crews each year—logistically, mentally, and physically—but the challenge is matched by the reward of working alongside his rally family, helping one another, and seeing teams reach the end of the event together.

In Eric own words

"This year at OTR I was crewing for LTD race team car 799, as well as helping Team Dorrough car 397, and Eric Zabala in car 70. I always hope for easy just tire changes and clean windows, however rally can change that quickly."

"We had a snapped axle on 799 from shake down on Friday this year. Fearing that the center diff had went we were out searching for a spare transmission from other competitors. We found one and thankfully did not need it."

"On car car 397 they found some big rocks that tore out the trailing arm bracket, we were able to source one and after cutting a hole in the floor board we were able to get it back together so they could finish the rally."

"With car 70 we had it pretty easy just window cleaning, fuel and fixing the bumper after the water crossing."

"The rally fam is what keeps me coming back. Working on cars under pressure is a bit of an adrenalin rush as well."
