Scrutineer Marshals are responsible for inspecting rally cars before competition, verifying safety equipment, vehicle construction, and technical compliance. Their work ensures every car meets ARA regulations and that competitors can take the start safely.

"Having been obsessed with rally since 1997, I was surprised to find out I could volunteer and actually be a part of the sport I’ve loved watching for so long. That was like winning the lottery. Getting to contribute, even in small ways, and feel like part of a team has been incredibly rewarding. The drivers, codrivers, and crews are always so appreciative of the volunteers—it’s rare to feel so valued while doing something you genuinely love."
"Joe (boyfriend), Brody (my son), and I have volunteered as tech and road marshals. Sure, sometimes we miss parts of the spectator action, and that can be a little frustrating, but it’s absolutely worth it. Being part of the behind-the-scenes team brings a whole new level of appreciation for the sport we love."
"Getting to spec Pastrana and Semenuk's car was one of the greatest days of my life. But when you are out there working as a team to get spec done, I didn't even get a chance to get excited until afterwards. OTR taught me so much about cars and you immediately feel like you are a part of a team."
Olympus rally is so much fun because it's in my backyard, but traveling to Portland alone and getting to meet so many amazing people that have the same passion I do is unexplainable. Michelle and Kevin taught me so much.
"I hope to be a co-driver someday, but right now I just fight traffic on I-5."
