Dawn Moss and Thomas Moss
Dawn Moss and Thomas Moss serve as E-crew Medics, responding when a car goes off the road or is involved in an accident. Their role includes providing medical checks and treatment as needed, covering spectator areas, and assisting sweep teams with safety checks at the start of each rally stage. This work helps ensure proper safety gear is in place and that medical crews are familiar with the competing cars.

We also cover spectator areas, and many of us assist the sweeps with safety checks at the start of each rally stage. This ensures everyone has the proper safety gear and that we’re familiar with the cars.”
“In my first year, 2022 as an E-crew medic, the stage I was on had a rollover. I was used to working with my local fire department, and seeing the car — and then the drivers out and unhurt — was a shock to me.”
“We volunteer our time for Mountain Wave Search and Rescue. It gives us practical experience as medics—whether it’s four-wheel driving, medical response, or radio use—and helps build teamwork as we cover the different stages together.”
Profession
Both Dawn and Thomas are former fire department members and now volunteer with Mountain Wave Search and Rescue (MWAVE).
