Phillip King is a proud Oregonian who first became involved with rally in 2025, working Stop Time Control and Flying Finish during his first year as a volunteer.

In Phillip's own words

"When working stop control at Oak Flat reverse, the weather was really something else. When it poured rain, me and my teammates running stop were all huddling under a single umbrella trying desperately to not to get our paper records wet."

And then when the rain stopped wind was gusting so hard that we were freezing by the end of the day, so all of us were huddled up in blankets.

The one comment that got me was a driver saying: "Wow you guys look cozy!" When we were in fact, freezing cold."

"Originally I just wanted to learn more about Rally, but now I've gotten to know the great kinds of people who participate in these events, both volunteers and drivers.

The fast cars are awesome, but the people make it worth it.
